History & Team
History
The Partner Dance Festival initiative originated from a collective vision to bridge the gap between contact improvisation and contemporary dance forms. The idea was conceptualized by Shifu Ash, who envisioned creating a space where dancers could explore the nuances of partner work within a contemporary dance context. This vision was shared and embraced by esteemed colleagues, including Aric Master, Sanklap Sharma, and Pratik Surve.
Mission
Partner Dance International Festival serves as a platform for dancers to engage in focused movement research and explore the boundaries of improvised dancing within the framework of partner work. The festival aims to foster creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange among dancers from around the world.
